John Legend dropped his latest album, aptly titled “Legend,” on Friday (September 9), ending the two-year wait for John Legend’s followers to hear an official studio album.

The 24-track project, which is the first to come from the singer’s deal with Republic Records following his 17-year career with Columbia Records, is supported by previously released songs “Honey” with Muni Long, “Dope” featuring JID, and “All She Wanna Do,” which features Saweetie. The album also features the likes of Rick Ross, Ty Dolla $ign, Jhene Aiko, and more,

Sharing about the album, the EGOT winner stated: “Until this point, I’ve never used an aspect of my name as the title of an album. I had to earn that, to live up to it by delivering in the performance and the music. And this is me saying, I’m proud of who I am, I’m confident in the work I’ve done, and I’m just going to declare it.”
