British R&B star JayO is back with “Episode 1: Lost,” a two-track project featuring “Obsessed” and “So Sweet.”
The release follows JayO‘s previous triumphs, including the viral hit “22” and recent tracks like “Back” and “Often.” “Obsessed” sets a seductive tone, capturing the essence of Valentine’s Day, while “So Sweet” showcases JayO‘s versatility with an upbeat and infectious vibe, blending soulful vocals and irresistible grooves.
At 24, JayO is an artist who refuses to be confined to a single genre or style. Having explored grime, hip-hop, house, R&B, and Afrobeats since his teen years, he now focuses on the latter two genres. His earlier releases, “XO” and “22,” gained significant attention, the latter featuring sultry piano and delicate vocals. Despite performing at notable events like Stormzy’s “This Is What We Mean Day” in 2023, JayO sees himself at the beginning of his journey.
Influenced by his experiences in church and family visits to Nigeria, where he soaked in Afrobeats and old-school R&B, JayO‘s music aims to recreate the feel-good atmosphere of those moments. His sound, crafted since childhood on a laptop in his bedroom, exudes warmth and intimacy. The singles see JayO continue with his gentle, feel-good vibe, promising a journey filled with exploration and exciting possibilities.
