In a suit filed in Los Angeles, FKA Twigs is suing ex-boyfriend Shia LaBeouf for sexual battery, assault, and emotional distress and claims he knowingly gave her an STD.
The filing details multiple instances of “relentless abuse” by the actor. It reads: “Shia LaBeouf hurts women. He uses them. He abuses them, both physically and mentally. He is dangerous.”
She accuses LaBeouf of slamming her against a car and allegedly attempting to strangle her. In other parts, she claims he pulled out a gun and told her he had killed stray dogs so that he could practice getting into a killer’s mindset.
Talking to the New York Times, Twigs explained she wasn’t suing for monetary gains but is hoping the suit warns sheds light on Labeouf’s ways and that of men like him.
“This action has been brought not for personal gain, but to set the record straight, and to help ensure that no more women must undergo the abuse that Shia LaBeouf has inflicted on his prior romantic partners. The days in which LaBeouf can mistreat and harm women with impunity are over.” -Twigs said in her suit.
When LaBeouf was questioned by the New York Times for a response prior to the publishing of the report, he said: “I’m not in any position to tell anyone how my behavior made them feel. I have no excuses for my alcoholism or aggression, only rationalizations. I have been abusive to myself and everyone around me for years. I have a history of hurting the people closest to me. I’m ashamed of that history and am sorry to those I hurt. There is nothing else I can really say.”
