The Fekky’s CC Foundation has teamed up with Totality Services, an IT service provider, to offer the UK’s first-ever laptop library to help underprivileged pupils go online.

The library, which is based in Lewisham, south London, will enable kids to borrow a laptop for free and take it home for a defined length of time. This year, the laptop library is projected to serve over 1,000 students.

After a study involving 13,000 young people in Lewisham, it was discovered that 84 percent of students don’t have access to a computer outside of school, and more than half don’t have internet access at home.

“We believe that creating the Tech Suite with Totality will go a long way in challenging these issues, provide people with the opportunities to see and set high standards for themselves,” said Fekky.

The library opened a year after Fekky founded the CC Foundation, which strives to help young people in the United Kingdom.

Fekky stated at the time of the launch that the organization will start in his hometown of Lewisham before expanding to support youngsters throughout the nation.
