Days after the Grammy Award-winner took to social media to address the hateful comments directed at her following the release of her recent single ‘Rumors,’ featuring Cardi B, social media giant Facebook, which owns two of the platforms involved in the online bullying, has removed comments from her account while banning related accounts.
As we previously reported, Lizzo upon the release of her captivating music video with the ‘WAP’ rapper, was met with extreme body-shaming remarks on her social media, which as per the femcee, was very depressing to witness, leading her to address the situation in tears on an Instagram Live.
Moments after her IG Live, her recent collaborator Cardi also took to Twitter to slam anyone who had attacked Lizzo and offered some words of wisdom to persons with such sentiments.
When you stand up for yourself they claim your problematic & sensitive. When you don’t they tear you apart until you crying like this. Whether you skinny, big, plastic, they going to always try to put their insecurities on you.Remember these are nerds looking at the popular table. https://t.co/jE5eJw8XP6

Lizzo said during her emotional IG Live:
“Sometimes I feel like the world just don’t love me back.
“For the most part, it doesn’t bother me. It’s just that when I’m working this hard, my tolerance gets lower. My patience is lower. I’m sensitive and it gets to me.
“If you don’t like me. Cool. If you don’t like ‘Rumors.’ Cool. But a lot of people don’t like me because of how I look.”
We are pleased to see social media sites being regulated in recent times, as most users are unpleasant and harsh without provocation, primarily for the purpose of anonymity. Twitter is another platform that has been swift to suspend or warn individuals who have made abusive comments.
