Emma Grede, co-founder and CEO of Good American and founding partner of SKIMS, has released her debut book, ‘Start With Yourself: A New Vision for Work & Life‘, published by Avid Reader Press, an imprint of Simon & Schuster.

Arriving on April 14th, the book is framed as a practical blueprint drawn from Grede‘s own mindset and experience, challenging what she calls “old thoughts” — ingrained cultural assumptions about work-life balance, money, and ambition that she argues hold people back from genuine mastery over their goals. Rather than offering abstract inspiration, the book is structured for immediate application, positioning it as a tool for both personal and professional growth.

Grede‘s story lends the material considerable weight, as she grew up in East London, left school early, and went on to build some of the most recognisable brands in fashion and lifestyle, all while raising four children and serving on the boards of the Obama Foundation and Baby2Baby. Her journey from East London to becoming one of America‘s most prominent self-made businesswomen is the lived proof behind the framework she is putting forward.

To mark the launch, Grede has embarked on an extensive book tour running from April 15th to 30th, spanning New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Washington DC, Boston, Atlanta, and London. The guest lineup is striking, with conversations scheduled with Martha Stewart, Charlamagne tha God, Tracee Ellis Ross, Kandi Burruss, Kaitlan Collins, Misty Copeland, Sarah Jakes Roberts, and Jay Shetty, among others.

Start With Yourself‘ ties directly into her ‘Aspire with Emma Grede‘ podcast, where she has long explored themes of empowerment and business, making the book a natural extension of a platform she has been building for years.
