Ed Sheeran has returned with major news for his fans as the “Bad Habits” singer has announced his fourth studio solo album “=”, which is slated to be released on October 29, 2021.

Sharing the exciting news via his Instagram Live, Ed told fans that the project which will be released with 14 tracks was a hard one to compile, seeing as he had several tracks to choose from but he believes this is his best bit of work yet.

During the live stream, Sheeran explained the cover art and motivation for the album, saying:

“I painted part of the cover over lockdown, just splatting paint on a canvas and then my friend Zac has designed the cover, which is great. You will have seen the chrysalis cocoon that’s on there . . . symbolism behind the new album is new life.”

He continued, “Over the last four years, I’ve been through different experiences in life, including getting married, having a kid, losing friends, and I just felt like the butterfly symbolism fit in with that.”

Details, including the tracklist and a preorder link, were released shortly after the live stream. Ed also released “Visiting Hours,” which was written in honor of his buddy Michael, who reportedly died earlier this year.

The next single to be released is titled “Visiting Hours,” and was written by Sheeran for his buddy Michael, who died earlier this year, and will be released on September 10th.
