The 1973 released hit song ‘Jolene’ has long been a staple in the music industry with over two dozen covers already played since its debut.
Dolly Parton mentioned to The Big Issue that she would like to cover the legendary country song by the one and only Queen Bey.
Parton said: “Jolene’ has been recorded more than any other song that I have ever written.
It has been recorded worldwide over 400 times in lots of different languages, by lots of different bands. The White Stripes did a wonderful job of it, and many other people. But nobody’s ever had a really big hit record on it. I’ve always hoped somebody might someday, someone like Beyoncé.”
Truly, having a Beyonce cover to the song will be amazing as she has proven to be the Queen at any genre when she wants to, case in point- ‘Daddy Lessons’.
