Doja Cat has stated that she will no longer be releasing the German rave album from the 1990s, which she previously teased during an interview.

At the time, Doja told the interviewer that she has been inspired by the music genre and was “sort of embracing that,” adding, “That’s kind of a hint to the album. Rave culture, not house.”

However, the ‘Need to Know’ rapper has revealed that she was only “pranking the outlet that interviewed me about it,”and that she’s “not doing a german rave culture album you guys.”

In a series of follow-up tweets, Doja revealed what she was actually intending to do, which is apparently an “experimental jazz album,” after trolling fans she plans to release an R&B album.

She wrote, “Yall I was lying. I’m doing an experimental jazz album. I thought it would be funny to steer you into believing i was doing r&b cuz i knew it would work but I’m doing experimental jazz now, honest truth.”

Doja then shared a voice note in which she reveals what fans may expect and the title of the upcoming album, ‘Rock Out Volume One – The Abyss 5000.’

She said: “I’m putting out an album and this time I’m being serious. I am putting out a rock album, it’s going to have emo jams. The name of the album is going to be called ‘Rock Out Volume One – The Abyss 5000’ so keep on a lookout for that.”

Adding, “I am entering a rock phase and I hope everyone enjoys.”

The ‘Rock Out Volume One – The Abyss 5000’ will serve as the follow up to Doja’s 2021 acclaimed third studio album, ‘Planet Her.’
