Following a domestic altercation, the UK rapper has been charged with assaulting a woman.

Following the alleged attack at the woman’s flat in Streatham, South London, the 36-year-old rapper, name Dylan Mills is scheduled to appear in court in September.

The victim had minor injuries and was not transported to the hospital when police arrived at the scene.

A spokesperson for The Metropolitan Police said: “Dylan Mills, 36, of Sevenoaks, Kent, has been charged with assault after an incident at a residential address in Streatham on 8 June.

“Officers attended and a woman reported minor injuries. She did not require hospital treatment. Mills is due to appear at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 3 September.”

The case comes ahead of the rapper’s appearances on several shows, including South Facing Festival and gigs in Crystal Palace Park and Lydiard Park.

The rapper recently commemorated the 18th anniversary of his groundbreaking first album, Boy In Da Corner, which was released on July 22, 2001 and is widely considered as one of the best grime albums of all time.

Dizzee has periodically appeared on TV for various reasons and the most recent of which was his appearance on Celebrity Bake Off.

Speaking of what led him to feature on the show, Dizzee said: “They asked me to do it,’ he said. “I was a bit nervous. I do the odd TV thing every now and then but this one is for a good cause as well.

“It’s one of those programmes I never saw myself doing but that’s almost a reason to do it because you’re out of your comfort zone. I don’t bake.”

Respected in his field, the rapper recently received an MBE in The Queen’s Birthday Honours for his efforts to music.

Dizzee has yet to release an official statement in response to the charge but stay tuned to YEEEAAH! Network for more updates on this story as it develops.
