Diplo’s alleged harasser, who was served with a restraining order and sued in April, has now filed her own complaint against the DJ.
Shelly Auguste, Diplo’s ex-girlfriend, is reportedly suing the 42-year-old DJ for sexual battery, assault, defamation, infliction of emotional distress, and fraud in legal documents acquired by TMZ.
Auguste claims Diplo initially reached out to her on Twitter when she was 17 years old and “solicited nude photos of her,” before going on to exchange several graphic pictures and later met for the first time in person in 2018 when she turned 21 years old.
Diplo allegedly became insistent for sex after Auguste relocated to Los Angeles, sending her unsolicited graphic photographs of himself in sexual contexts.
Auguste also alleges that Diplo “recorded video of their sexual encounter despite her telling him she didn’t want that” and sought to “coax her into a threesome with a girl she believes was underaged at the time.” Diplo allegedly “forced himself on her as she tried to fight him off,” after she refused the threesome.
Speaking to TMZ, Diplo’s attorney, Brian Freedman said: “As has already been made clear in the restraining order we obtained against this individual, she has repeatedly stalked, defamed, threatened and attempted to shake down Diplo and his family. These latest false claims are just part of that ongoing campaign of harassment, and we will not allow them to deter us from pursuing justice against her to the fullest extent possible under the law.”
The lawsuit comes months after Diplo asked a judge to issue a temporary restraining order against Auguste in December, claiming he and his family are being constantly harassed.
