Following Jermaine Dupri’s recent address to Diddy’s Twitter response about the pair having a showdown on Verzuz, Bad Boy Records CEO, Sean Diddy Combs has made his sentiments known, during a live session on Instagram which featured Snoop Dogg, Dupri, and host Fat Joe.
Joining in on the live stream, Diddy straight away addressed his longtime friend and collaborator, saying:
“Ayo, short arms. You need to chill out short arms. You hear me?” Diddy said to Dupri. “Ayo, I love you. First of all, I want the world to know that this is one of my best friends. You know, one of my best inspirations.”
Love then continued to address individuals who doubt his position in the music scene, saying:
“You amnesia-having motherfuckers. I done gave y’all life for motherfucking 20 years of music. I’ma tell you, JD, anything I touch. Anything I breathed on, executive produced, anything I thought up, anything I fucking did, whatever. You hear me? Don’t play with me.”
Shifting his focus back to Dupri, Diddy implied that their music catalogs were so far apart, in regards to hits and accolades.
“Are you listening, JD? … What you gon’ do when [Biggie’s] ‘One More Chance’ drops?” he asked, as hindered Dupri from speaking. “… I’m the greatest. What the fuck y’all talking about? I have the most No. 1s as an artist … I don’t even hear no one play none of your shit. Ayo, when we go back in the club, I don’t hear no one play none of your shit. Ain’t nobody rocking no Kriss Kross shit, or no Bow Wow. I want Dre! Where is Dre? Where is Dre?”
The entire ordeal appeared to be very entertaining to hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg, who suggested that he would contact his old friend Dr. Dre to inquire about a possible Verzuz battle with Diddy, but Fat Joe quickly dismissed the idea, insisting that Dre was simply uninterested.
Moments after, Diddy would challenge Dupri to “five for five” battle during the live session, to which Dupri will decline. That of course didn’t stop the Bad Boy CEO, as he went on to play some of his greatest hits, such as “Victory,” “Who Shot Ya,” “Hypnotize,” “Come and Talk to Me,” “Whoa,” “All About the Benjamins,” and more.
Diddy went on to battle himself on behalf of Dupri, following his decline to participate, playing the So So Def rapper’s hits, “Jump,”“Welcome to Atlanta” remix, and “Money Ain’t a Thang.”
Finally, Dupri caved in and inquired if Diddy had in his catalog, an R&B track better than Usher’s “Confessions,” and Diddy responded with Mary J. Blige’s “I’m Going Down.”
