The 43-year-old actress has reportedly signed the cast to reprise her role as Okoye in a Black Panther spinoff series for Disney+, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Details of the contract, which was purportedly handled by Hollywood attorney Jamie Mandelbaum, have not been disclosed, however, THR reports that Black Panther filmmaker Ryan Coogler would produce the unnamed “origins” series.
The development comes only months after Coogler announced that he had inked an exclusive five-year TV agreement with the Walt Disney Company, under which he would work on a variety of projects, including a Black Panther drama series set in the fictitious country of Wakanda.
This summer, Ryan Coogler is slated to begin shooting Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in Atlanta and yet many questions about narrative lines and casting have remained unanswered. Details for the movie have largely remained undisclosed.
