According to reports, Chris Brown owes unpaid state and federal taxes totaling over $4 million to the IRS.
Distractify initially revealed on Tuesday (Jan. 24) that Chris Brown might have to pay a substantial tax bill, with the publication obtaining paperwork showing that Breezy was issued a $2,245,561.50 federal tax lien last month.
Per reports, the government added an additional $1,059,967.78, with the state of California also filing a state tax lien for $739,067.48, which brings the total of Brown’s tax bill to $4,044,596.76.
Should he fail to settle his tax bill on time, the government could seize Brown’s Tarzana, California, residence as well as his assets, including his companies.
Breezy is only the latest artist to seemingly face tax issues, as Kanye West said last November that the IRS said he owed $50 million in unpaid taxes, which led to two of his accounts being frozen. Nicki Minaj had to refute claims that she owed $173 million in unpaid taxes last summer.
However, others have served time in prison for allegedly failing to pay their taxes, including the late rap legend DMX, who was sentenced to a year in prison for tax evasion charges for $1.7 million in 2017.
Brown has yet to address the reports as of press time. Stay tuned to YEEEAAH! Network for more updates as the story develops.
