Chris Brown has frequently been compared to pop legend Michael Jackson, but with Breezy’s newest musical accomplishment this week, the R&B superstar has been likened to Elvis Presley, one of music’s all-time greats.
The news comes as music lovers storm theaters to catch the Austin Butler-starring film about the King of Rock N’ Roll. Meanwhile, Brown enters the coveted chart and smashes the icon’s Billboard Hot 100 record with tracks from his current album, ‘Breezy.’
‘Breezy’ entered this week’s Billboard 200 as Brown’s 12th top 10 albums owing to tremendous streaming of the 24-track effort. As such, a number of ‘Breezy’ tracks made the Hot 100 this week, earning Brown the highest number of Hot 100 hits for a male vocalist. Prior to this milestone, Brown had previously landed himself in the history books for becoming the first male R&B artist to land 100 Billboard Hot 100 hits.
Thanks to ‘Breezy’ hits including ‘Call Me Everyday’ (#76), ‘Psychic’ (#78), ‘Warm Embrace’ (#79), ‘Addicted’ (#92), and ‘Possessive’ (#98), Brown now has 112 entries on the chart, surpassing Presley’s 109. Elvis was the first musician to have 100 Hot 100 entries. However, the King of Rock N’ Roll had released several hits prior to the chart’s 1958 debut.
