Ceebo has joined forces with fellow Lambeth wordsmith Blanco for ‘Gets Like Dat’, the latest taste of his forthcoming mixtape Bloccstar.

Built around a sombre jazz loop and skittering drums, the track sees both rappers reflect on the realities of building a career in music, from navigating industry expectations to balancing commercial success with creative freedom.

The collaboration holds particular significance for Ceebo, who grew up listening to Blanco and cites him as an early influence.

“Having grown up on Blanco’s music, it’s really gratifying to get on a song with him,” Ceebo said, describing the collaboration as both “exciting and humbling.”

For Blanco, the track offered an opportunity to address some of the creative struggles he has experienced throughout his career. The rapper explained that he has not previously spoken openly about being unable to make some of the music he wanted to create.

‘Gets Like Dat’ continues the rollout for Bloccstar, a conceptual project exploring ambition, artistic integrity and the moral compromises that can accompany the pursuit of mainstream success.

Ceebo has already introduced the project through singles ‘Parable Of A Skinnyman’ and ‘Revolut’, while teasing unreleased track ‘Owner’ across social media.

The release follows recent performances at The Great Escape and Fête de la Musique, as Ceebo continues to establish himself as one of the emerging voices to watch in UK rap.
