Cassie Ventura has publicly addressed the incident involving her ex-partner, Sean “Diddy” Combs, for the first time.
Cassie’s statement comes after a distressing video had surfaced, displaying Combs‘ physical assault on Cassie in a hotel corridor. Following days of fans concern and support, Cassie has finally expressed her ongoing recovery from the trauma and the work needed to get better.
Cassie wrote in her statement shared to social media: “Thank you for all of the love and support from my family, friends, strangers and those I have yet to meet.”
She went on, “The outpouring of love has created a place for my younger self to settle and feel safe now, but this is only the beginning.”
Adding, “Domestic Violence is THE issue. It broke me down to someone I never thought I would become, Cassie asserted. “With a lot of hard work, I am better today, but I will always be recovering from my past.”
While Cassie was appreciative of all the love and support, the singer-songwriter had one request from her followers, writing: “My only ask is that EVERYONE open your heart to believing victims the first time,” she urged. “It takes a lot of heart to tell the truth out of a situation that you were powerless in.”

Meanwhile, Sean Combs, also known as P Diddy, previously responded to the viral CCTV footage by acknowledging his actions as “inexcusable” and expressing his disgust.
Diddy said at the time, “It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you’ve gotta do that. I was f***ed up. I mean, I hit rock bottom. But I make no excuses. My behaviour in that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video.
He went on, “I’m disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it, I’m disgusted now,” he asserted. Adding, “I went and I sought professional help, started going to therapy, I’ve been going to rehab. I had to ask God for His mercy and grace.
Adding, “I’m so sorry. But, I’ve committed to being a better man, each and every day,” he said, before concluding: ‘I’m not asking for forgiveness, I’m truly sorry.”
