It appears that concerns regarding the lack of musical credits have recently been a topic in the music industry, as UK rapper Lady Leshurr is the latest to accuse a fellow musician of neglecting to credit her after sampling her work.

Taking to Twitter on Tuesday (Aug. 2), Leshurr replied to a user who appeared to realize the similarities between Cardi B’s “Cheap A** Weave” track and UK femcee’s “Queen’s Speech 4” track.

The Twitter user @brokencloxx wrote under a tweet acknowledging Leshurr’s 7th anniversary of the track, writing: “cheap ass weave.”

In response, Leshurr asked the user to ask Cardi, “if she can break me off a likkle change she used my beat/idea before her big break and is now a millionaire and I got paid 0 🥺”

The tweet made its rounds on the internet, ultimately finding it way back to the “WAP” rapper, who then replied saying, “I made like 2 dollars of that song ….you want the other dollar ?”

Leshurr, who appeared amused by Cardi’s response then replied, “😂😂 would b nice but tbh I just wanted my credit & it’s mad I had to tweet banter 4 a response when I dm u years ago about it.”

Adding, “I was cool wen I thought it was just YT cover but it’s on streaming sites as “cheap azz weave” nw & urs comes up b4 mine so yes dollar & credit pls 💜.”

Cardi, however, didn’t seem so amused by the entire situation, as she concluded by saying, “I don’t find the song on apple but if it’s on any streaming service I will be makin sure it’s takin down including YouTube. I will also make sure I send you your dollar.”
