After years of court proceedings, Cardi and her former manager Klenord ‘Shaft’ Raphael have finally met the end of the road as a ruling dismisses the case in its entirety without prejudice.
Klenord Raphael initially filed a $10 million suit against Cardi B, claiming breach of contract. In response, the ‘WAP’ rather filled a $30 million countersuit, which argued that Raphael had her sign the original contract without a lawyer present.
The back and forth had royalties earned by Cardi held up until the court case was finalized, which in turn means, the rapper is entitled to millions of dollars which have been on hold since the beginning of the lawsuit two years ago.
Cardi B signed with Quality Control (the managerial home of Migos) after ending her contract with Ex-manager Klenord, which he claimed in his suit that Cardi’s husband Offset had threatened him.
On Dec 24th, the case was brought to a close, and documents obtained read: “This action, including all claims and counterclaims, is hereby dismissed in its entirety with prejudice against all parties. The parties have further agreed that all parties to this action shall bear their own costs and attorney’s fees.”
Earlier this year, Cardi confirmed she hadn’t received royalties when a fan asked her about the rumour. She said:
According to my lawyers alittle but more then that but it can’t be touch till my litigation is over. Its just can’t be touch till we solve the despute. But when that fat ass check hit my account all at once it’s gonna be lit .Thats why I never trip cause it’s there. https://t.co/aHibuWDOT8
