We will be remiss not to acknowledge the extraordinary year Cardi B has had so far and it seems to keep amounting when you think she’s peaked, for the ‘Wap’ rapper just extended her reign as the most certified female rapper with her track ‘I Like It’.
The RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) just certified ‘I Like It’ 9x Platinum which sets Cardi B on track to becoming the first female rapper in history to own a single certified Diamond by the RIAA. This is achieved with sales of 10 million in the United States.
This is possible as her debut #1 single, ‘Bodak Yellow’ became the most certified female rap hit ever and now with ‘I Like It’ which is her second Hot 100 chart-topper- matching ‘Bodak Yellow’ to reach 9x Platinum status, Cardi sees her overall career certification total reach 41 million units sold in the U.S., which hereby extends her record as the most certified female rapper in digital history.
