Busta Rhymes is facing major backlash on social media for comments he made during a live appearance in St. Louis.

Taking to the stage on June 19th at the Seoul Tacos 10th Anniversary Block Party in St. Louis, Rhymes began his act by saying that, it was his “second show in front of human life in the last 15 f*cking months.”

He then said: “COVID can suck a d*ck,” while being cheered on. “All these little weird-ass government policies and mandates, suck a d*ck. Stop trying to take our civil liberties away.”

The rant went on as he attacked mask regulations, saying:

“It’s called the god-given right of freedom, right? No human being’s supposed to tell you, you can’t even breathe freely. F*ck your mask. Some of y’all might feel differently, but f*ck your mask. I can’t rhyme to you with a mask on. You can’t eat food with a f*cking mask on. We can’t even see each other smile with a mask on.”

He went on to discuss his dating experiences and how wearing a mask, which inhibits the transmission of COVID-19, suffocates him.

“I come from a time where before I used to even want to holler at a chick, I used to have to do shit with my face to let her know that I’m into her. But all of that energy gets blocked when your mask is on. Energy is important, and we are all conductors of fucking good energy.”

Busta ends the video by stating his appreciation for the time off, as it made him “more empowered” and that he “learned so much sh*t in this little time off,” before saying to the audience: “I wanna see your face, f*ck your mask.”

When Busta’s statements were resurfaced on social media, both celebrities and fans alike, condemned the Hip-Hop legend for being so reckless with his words, taking to Twitter in droves to criticize the rapper.
