This morning, Michael Gove revealed there would be a “shift in emphasis,” as people are now being encouraged to work from home.
He continued to say, “They are reluctant steps that we’re taking, but they’re absolutely necessary because as we were reminded yesterday and as you’ve been reporting, the rate of infection is increasing, the number of people going to the hospital is increasing, therefore we need to act.”
This means as part of new strategies, Boris Johnson is also expected to encourage people to work from home if they can.
The Prime Minister is expected to announce the new measures in a House of Commons at lunchtime following a meeting of his Cabinet and Cobra this morning. He will then deliver an address to the nation at 8 pm this evening.
