Speaking in a new interview with Wall of ‘Where’s Wallo,’ Birdman gets candid about what his record label ‘Cash Money’ earns off its previous and current artists.

The ‘I Run This’ rapper revealed: “We license the music, I just started letting people sample my sh*t. So yeah, it’s a gang of ways you can make money with your masters. We generate $20-30 million a year just on our masters.”

However, several of the label’s musicians have expressed dissatisfaction with previous compensation and contracts. Lil Wayne, in particular, has filed a lawsuit against the label. While the matter has since been resolved, rappers such as Rick Ross who is a longtime friend of Weezy used the song “Idols Becoming Rivals” to criticize Birdman. Previously signed acts such as Hot Boy Turk, Juvenile, and others have also expressed dissatisfaction with their payout.
