Days after the Bill Cosby Show actress Phylicia Rashad offered her sincere apology to the alleged victims, the students and parents of Howard University, Bill Cosby who has recently been acquitted of all charges of sexual assault with prejudice has released a statement in defense of his friend.

Ms. Rashad faced massive criticism after she tweeted enthusiastically about the release of Cosby, saying: “Finally. A terrible wrong is being righted – a miscarriage of justice is corrected.”

Her statement seemed to have rubbed many the wrong way and as the dean of the recently re-established College of Fine Arts, Rashad saw massive backlash from social media, demanding her resignation.

According to CNN, Rashad sent an apology letter to students and parents, offering her “most sincere apology,” but it would seem Bill Cosby doesn’t deem it necessary and has called out the school.

He said in a statement: “Howard University you must support ones Freedom of Speech (Ms Rashad), which is taught or suppose to be taught everyday at that renowned law school, which resides on your campus.”

Adding: “Those same media insurrectionists are trying to demolish the constitution of these United State of America on this Independence Day,” Cosby wrote. “No technicality – it’s a violation of one’s rights and we the people stand in support of Ms Phylicia Rashad.”
