A new book has revealed Avicii’s final thoughts before committing suicide, and they highlight the depth of the late singer’s sorrows.
As widely reported, the ‘Wake Me Up’ singer committed suicide in April 2018 by means of a shattered glass bottle.
The book includes diary entries he penned shortly before his death dubbed “Tim – The Official Biography of Avicii” and it gives an insight into the 28-year-old’s mindset at the time.
“Those days in hospital were the most anxiety and stress-free days I can remember the past six years, those were my true vacations, as depressing as it might sound,” he wrote while admitted in a hospital and in rehab.
Avicii also wrote about his struggles with drugs and alcohol, stating:
“I had a hard time accepting never drinking again though strongly suggested from all doctors to wait at least a year before even having a beer.” His entry came around a time when there had been an apparent shift in rehab procedure, called California rehab, which proposes that addicts can drink and consume marijuana in moderation. However, some experts deemed the procedure a tragedy in the making.
Avicii went on, “Of course, I didn’t listen to the majority of the doctors, I listened to the couple who said it was OK if I was careful. I was ignorant and naive and touring the world, still on the never-ending tour …”
The entry which was reportedly made the day prior to his death was possibly the saddest thing ever, and it reads…”The shedding of the soul is the last attachment before it restarts!”
“Tim – The Official Biography of Avicii” is scheduled to be released next month. Stay tuned.
