Earlier this month, Ashanti shared on social media that she had contracted the virus after hugging a family member who was unaware they had the Covid-19, however, the singer has just shared an update on her health.

Taking to her Instagram, Ashanti shared a closeup image of herself smiling in good spirits with the caption:

“Hey y’all. Just wanted to say thank you so much for all of your thoughts and prayers,” she captioned a photo of herself smiling. “I’ve gotten so many calls, texts, emails, and DMs checking in on me and my family and I’m super grateful for that. I’m feeling much better.”

She also addressed the health of her parents and family saying: “Thanking God that my mom is out of the hospital and my dad is doing well. Needless to say, this will be a very different Christmas.. but still filled with gratitude and love.” She added, “Merry Christmas Eve.”

Per this update, fans can be optimistic to see Ashanti and Keyshia Cole live for the rescheduled Verzuz battle set for Jan. 9th, 2021.

We are pleased to hear Ashanti’s recovery is getting on well. Our thoughts however are with families with loved ones fighting Covid-19.

We can’t wait to have two legends on stage soon!
