Following the release of his latest album, ‘Mr. Money With The Vibe,’ Nigerian music star Asake made history on the Billboard 200 last week, becoming the highest charting debut album by a Nigerian musician.

The album, which debuted at No. 66 on the coveted chart, follows in the likes of Burna Boy‘s Love, Damini, Wizkid‘s Made In Lagos, and Burna Boy’s Grammy-winning Twice As Tall.

The 27-year-old singer debuted his much-awaited debut album on September 8 after releasing a string of popular songs including “Sungba,” “Sungba (Remix)” with Burna Boy, “Peace Be Unto You (PBUY),” “PALAZZO” with SPINALL, and “Bandana” with Fireboy DML.

The album has become the African album with the highest first-day and three-day streams, breaking a previous record on Apple Music. In the first 48 hours after its release, all 12 of the album’s tracks were in the top 12 on Apple Music Nigeria. On September 19, Mr. Money With The Vibe made history by being the first album in TurnTable Charts history to feature seven songs in the top ten. The singles “Terminator,” “Organise,” “Joha,” “PBUY,” “Nzaza,” “Dull,” and “Dupe” were in the top 10 in the chart week of September 19th, 2022.

The news arrived ahead of his “Mr. Money With The Vibe USA Tour” which kicked off on September 22 in Chicago, and is scheduled to make stops in Washington, DC, Atlanta, Houston, and others..
