Ari Lennox is hot on the promo trail for her recently released sophomore album, age/sex/location, with stops on CUT, The Tonight Show, amongst others.

Her latest stop, which was The Breakfast Club, saw the 31-year-old singer reveal some interesting bits with the show’s hosts Angela Yee, Charlamagne tha God, and DJ Envy, where the topics covered a broad range of subjects, such as her painful dating experiences with struggling rappers and more.

During the lengthy conversation, Yee recounts how Lennox has ended up with various aspiring artists who opt to keep their dreams concealed during the relationship until an opportunity arises. Skip to the 15:35 mark below to watch this section.

Yee questioned whether or not one of these individuals had ever proven to be “actually good.” Lennox dismissed the idea, stating, “I will never be able to trust that you genuinely wanna be here for me, and not try to get Cole, or, you know, Dreamville or Interscope.”

Charlamagne soon after asked Lennox which of the aspiring rappers had traumatized her, to which she laughed and responded, “Oh, there’s so many,” with Yee adding, “People we’ll never hear of.”

Lennox went on to say, “Like, they just won’t say it till like, you like them. And it’s just like, ‘Well, I’m ’bout to go to the studio.’ What?! Why—like, when, what studio?”

Lennox then described dating one person, who pretended to not know her profession, and “always kinda diminished everything about me,” while acting like her “singing part didn’t even exist.” The experience has thought her to now be in search of someone who is “nice.”

Lennox recently stopped by the Youtube channel, ‘CUT,’ where she played the “Truth or Drink” game with host Omar Henry. She also shares a lot about her personal life during the game, which you can watch in full below.
