The highly anticipated Aretha Franklin biopic Respect’ which was originally set to be in theathres on January 15th 2021, has been delayed to a week after the three years anniversary of Aretha’s passing.
‘Respect’ is now set for arrival on 11th August 2021 and this comes as such a bummer to most fans who were eager to watch the story of the Queen of Soul being played by Jennifer Hudson and other cast members Forest Whitaker, Marlon Wayans, and Mary J. Blige.
We can’t wait to see if Jennifer Hudson will indeed win an Oscar for playing Aretha in ‘Respect’ as per Aretha’s prophecy to her when she handpicked the actress ten years ago. One thing is for sure though, Jennifer certainly played her part.
