Amelia Dimoldenberg, creator of Chicken Shop Date, is bringing back Dimz Inc. Academy for a second year, this time expanded and backed by Adobe alongside returning supporter Spiral Skills. The programme is free, runs across four weeks in August 2026, and is open to London-based 18 to 24-year-olds interested in digital media and storytelling.
Every participant receives a guaranteed paid work placement, one-to-one mentoring, access to the Dimz Inc. alumni network, and a £300 bursary to help cover the cost of taking part.
The first year delivered results worth paying attention to. All participants improved their skills, with 93% showing measurable gains in creativity, planning, and adaptability as evaluated through the Skills Builder framework. On average, they made three times the progress typically expected without any such intervention, an outcome that researchers link to higher earning potential, better job satisfaction, and lower unemployment risk over time.
The four weeks are structured practically, with the first week covering vision, ideation, and pitching. The second moves into production and filming, including a session shadowing a Chicken Shop Date shoot. The third focuses on editing and creative development, with Adobe Premiere Pro training built in. The fourth is about presenting finished work to industry professionals and mapping out what comes next. Most sessions run three days a week in Lambeth, South London, with some taking place in Central London.
The programme actively encourages applications from people from global majority backgrounds and underrepresented communities. Dimoldenberg has been clear about what the academy is for, explaining:
“Creative industries are full of talented young people who often just need someone to open the door. I was fortunate enough to have opportunities that allowed me to experiment, learn and build confidence early on,” said Amelia.

Academy is about creating those opportunities for others, helping young people develop practical skills, build meaningful connections and take their first steps into careers they may never have thought were accessible to them.
