Adele sat down with Vogue for its popular “73 Questions” piece as she prepares to release her much-anticipated album ’30.’
While the interview is titled ’73,’ implying that the number of questions a celebrity would be asked is just 73, Adele ended up with 95 questions to answer, all for the benefit of the fans.
Adele was asked about her past albums, 19, 21, and 25, as well as her upcoming effort, which she remained notoriously silent about as she offered a tour of her Los Angeles home.
“Does anything ever really end?” she says around the 14:25 minute mark when quizzed on she’ll be exploring on 30. “And when asked what is the one thing that’s different about this album in comparison to the others, she said, “It’s definitely my most personal one yet. I think.”
She also shared about her biggest risk yet, which she claims was her divorce from Simon Konecki with whom she shares a son, Angelo Adkins. She also made mention of her most prized possession which she said was a framed piece of gum from Céline Dion, which James Corden had gifted to her.
Adele previously released a letter to her fans, where she shared about her forthcoming album and what it meant to her, writing:
“I was certainly nowhere near where I’d hoped to be when I first started it nearly 3 years ago. Quite the opposite actually. I rely on routine and consistency to feel safe. I always have. And yet there I was knowingly—willingly even, throwing myself into a maze of absolute mess and inner turmoil!”
The album is set to be released on November 19th, and if the response to her first song in six years (Easy On Me) is any indicator, we’re in for Grammy and Billboard dominance.
