Adele’s estranged father has died at the age of 57 after a battle with cancer, according to The Sun. Mark Evans, prior to his passing, had not spoken to Adele in years due to a family feud.
Mr. Evans’ family are ‘of course really saddened by his death,’ according to a source and revealed that the animosity between him and Adele remained ‘acrimonious to the end.’
Evans, who abandoned the singer when she was a child, had a major falling out in 2011 when Evans claimed in an interview that she was incapable of love due to her abandonment issues.
Mr. Evans announced in 2013 that he had been diagnosed with bowel cancer and was later reported in 2019 that he was working as a Yodel delivery driver for just £50 per day.
After years of not speaking to Adele, he said in an interview back in 2013 saying, I ‘just want my daughter back.’ Mr Evans also confessed to being a “rotten father” to his daughter when she was growing up.
“I was putting away two litres of vodka and seven or eight pints of Stella every day,” Evans said.
Adding: “I drank like that for three years. God only knows how I survived it”
He went on to admit that he was ‘deeply ashamed’ of who he had ‘become’.
Rest In Peace, Mark Evans.
