Leigh-Anne released a 20-minute fictional film on July 2nd, available for free on YouTube. Written by Leigh-Anne and directed by Garfield Clairmonte, the film serves as a companion piece to her debut album My Ego Told Me To, released on February 20th. Leigh-Anne clarified that the film is “a work of fiction inspired by the themes of my album,” with characters, events, and conversations fictionalized and any similarity to actual persons or events being coincidental.

The film opens with Leigh-Anne narrating: “Let’s start at the end because that’s usually where the truth is…” She explained the significance of the project in an email to fans: “Making this film for my debut album was really important to me. This whole album was a journey to rediscovering myself. Bringing out the fiercer, more confident parts of me that I’d pushed down for so long. I knew I had to find a way to show that story and what better way than through a film.”
The cast includes Stevie Odubola, Malcolm Kamulete, Savanah Graham, Spike Leighton, Olushola Theona Olanitan-Ajiboye, Lilyanna Baptiste, Two Tone, Macey Taylor, Lena Sanson, and Zhaion Prince. The film extends the album’s thematic exploration into a visual narrative centered on self-discovery and personal transformation.
Leigh-Anne rose to fame as a member of Little Mix after winning The X Factor in 2011. Her solo career began with a Warner Records UK deal in 2022, released her debut solo single “Don’t Say Love” in 2023, followed by the EP No Hard Feelings in 2024. Throughout 2025, she released multiple singles and collaborations which all culminated in her February 2026 debut album and accompanying UK tour.
