Amid a high-profile $260 million lawsuit against Tyler Perry, rapper and entertainment mogul 50 Cent has come out swinging in Perry’s defense, using his trademark blend of sharp commentary and internet-savvy humour to slam the allegations.
Actor Derek Dixon, who has appeared in several Tyler Perry productions, recently filed a staggering $260 million lawsuit accusing Perry of sexual harassment, unwanted advances, and professional retaliation. According to Dixon, the alleged misconduct escalated after he rejected Perry’s supposed romantic interest.
In a swift and decisive response, Perry, through his legal team, denied all accusations, calling the lawsuit a “scam” and a “shakedown attempt.” His lawyer stated: “This is an individual who got close to Tyler Perry for what now appears to be nothing more than setting up a scam. But Tyler will not be shaken down, and we are confident these fabricated claims of harassment will fail.”
Never one to mince words, 50 Cent took to Instagram to back his friend, dismissing the lawsuit with his signature street-wise tone: “Did that b!tch just say what I think he said? Nah, we ain’t jacking this sht gang! No way.” In another post, Fif added levity by sharing a meme of comedian Katt Williams, captioned: “Tyler, that case bullshit don’t worry about that. Worry about this [ninja emoji] here! He gonna have a field day with this sht.”
And in perhaps his most emphatic show of support, Fif stated: “I think anyone who talks bad about Tyler Perry should die. I mean, we are all gonna die, but you should die now!” a hyperbolic comment underscoring his fierce loyalty.
Beyond public support, the relationship between Perry and 50 Cent (real name Curtis Jackson) runs deeper. The two have frequently expressed admiration for each other’s business acumen and storytelling chops. Perry, in a recent clip reshared by 50, praised him: “I’m so proud of that man. He’s amazing and he’s blowing it up out of the water. I’m super, super proud of him.”
When asked about a future collaboration, Perry responded: “If he wants to. I love that dude.” 50 also teased a potential joint project, posting: “BIG collaboration coming soon. Sprinkle a little Tyler, sprinkle a little 50 and 💣💨 — you can’t beat it! HISTORY IN THE MAKING.”
Both men have emerged as major players in the entertainment industry, owning studios and building production legacies rooted in telling stories for underserved audiences. 50 Cent is currently developing a massive studio complex in Shreveport, Louisiana, following a blueprint Perry successfully executed in Atlanta.
