The 2026 BET Awards honoured achievements across music, film, television, sports, and culture. Ahead of Sunday 28th June ceremony at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, several artists received multiple nominations including Doechii, Doja Cat, Clipse, Teyana Taylor, and Olivia Dean, each earning four nominations. Jill Scott, Kehlani, T.I., A$AP Rocky, Bruno Mars, Bryson Tiller, Chris Brown, Metro Boomin, SZA, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, and YK Niece each scored three nominations, reflecting the breadth of talent recognized by the awards.
Now, with the coveted awards event concluded, let’s delve into the night’s biggest wins. Iconic group Clipse, took home Album of the Year for their critically acclaimed Let God Sort Em Out, as well as Best Group award. Kendrick Lamar won Best Male Hip Hop Artist and shared Best Collaboration with Clipse for “Chains & Whips.” Cardi B edged out a star-studded lineup to win Best Female Hip Hop Artist, as Kehlani secured Best Female R&B/Pop Artist while Leon Thomas took Best Male R&B/Pop Artist.

Teyana Taylor dominated the evening, winning Best Actress, the inaugural Fashion Vanguard Award, and Icon of the Year, with Lauryn Hill received the Living Legend Icon Award. Kehlani also won Video of the Year for “Folded,” while Tyla’s “Chanel” took the Viewers’ Choice Award. Teyana Taylor was also recognized as Video Director of the Year going against the likes of Hype Williams, Director X, Cardi B and Patience Foster. Lecrae, Killer Mike, and T.I. collaborated on the Best Gospel/Inspirational Award-winning track “Headphones,” as Doechii’s feature on SZA’s “girl, get up.” won the BET Her Award. Druski — who served as the host for this year’s event —received the Pulse Award.
In film and television, Sinners won Best Movie, Denzel Washington won Best Actor, and Jazzy’s World TV received the YoungStars Award. In sports, A’ja Wilson won Sportswoman of the Year with Jalen Brunson winning Sportsman of the Year. Renowned presenter MC Lyte returned as announcer for the ceremony, with performers including Cardi B, Doechii, Queen Latifah, Common, Don Toliver, French Montana, Max B, Jill Scott, Kehlani, Rick Ross, Tems, T.I., the War and Treaty, and kwn blowing the roof off with their standout performances.
